I’m a Naturalist at Heart
I am a born and bred Australian. If you think I just like reptiles, you are dead wrong. I really love nature. Let’s face it, I feel very privileged to live in a country like Australia, which has some of the most unique flora and fauna (plants and animals, respectively) on the planet.
In my reptile collection I only keep captive bred Australian native reptiles, and everything is licenced. But outside the confined walls of Brad’s Pit is a vast array of reptile and animal life all living la vida in their own natural habitats. What I like so much about having wild animals around my home is that they act as my guides and are great indicators of what wild animals are up to during any given season.
Today I saw two Eastern bearded dragons on my road. They appeared to be a male and female perhaps getting a little fresh, frisky and romantic. If you’ve been keeping up with the goings-on in Brad’s Pit, you know that this sort of behaviour has been demonstrated with my reptilian brood as of late.

An Eastern Bearded Dragon, found locally in Bushland around Brad's Snake Pit. This specimen is still a little thin after sleeping for the Winter.
Spring is a wonderful time where I live. All animals come alive! I had a Lyrebird very close to where I keep all my reptiles not too long ago. Just last week I had an Echidna in my yard. The week before that, a Green Tree Frog sat on the veranda eating insects.

A Lyrebird the largest song bird found anywhere in the world. This bird can mimic any bird species. As a matter of fact they can mimic someone tapping in a tent peg using a hammer and many other great noises. WOW.
Well if you all really liked these photos of visitors that visit me from time to time, give me some feedback and I will post more great photos of Australian native animals.
